Neuro Physiotherapy for dizziness associated with the central nervous system

Following a stroke or brain tumour/brain surgery (or any other neurological pathology affecting the brain), you may find that dizziness can impact your movement and quality of life. Neuro-physiotherapy can help by assessing what may be causing you to be dizzy, and by introducing specific exercises that can help in significantly reducing the severity.

A home visit specialist physiotherapist’s assessment will look at your movement and any triggers for the dizziness. Scores will be used to identify severity and irritability. You will be shown exercises to practice frequently and you will have plenty of time to ask questions and feel fully informed.

You can expect a full assessment to be carried out so that all aspects of your lifestyle are considered alongside your medical history. The types of questions used will be helpful in finding out why you may be experiencing dizziness. Do come ready with any reports of scans that you may have had, as this will be extremely useful at the time of the assessment.

If you require the Epley’s manoeuvre for BPPV you will be directed to a different specialist service as this is not carried out during home visits.
